2024 B-2: Niger coordinator flags off SAED training

 

The State Coordinator of NYSC in Niger State, Mrs. Abdulwahab Olayinka, has officially started the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) In-camp training for the 2024 Batch B stream II at the Niger State Orientation camp in Paiko.

In her address, The State Coordination NYSC Niger State, Mrs. Abdulwahab highlighted the importance of SAED as a federal government initiative to educate corps members about the realities of the Nigerian job market and to equip them with foundational entrepreneurship and practical skills, enabling them to become self-reliant in starting their business careers.

She further mentioned that NYSC has funding platforms by CBN, BOl, Kudi-Mata, Access Bank and Unity Bank, which create opportunities for financing businesses through business plan and also lectures would be conducted by organizations such as SON, CAC, and NAFDAC to guide corps members in business standardization and registration.

In her introductory address, the Head of SAED, Mrs Ajie Joy emphasized the significance of the SAED program and provided an overview of its components and the benefits for corps members who actively participate in the skill acquisition process. The program consists of two main phases: in-camp and post-camp courses.

Ex Corps Member, Mrs. Promise Smart Oyekachi, motivated the current Corps Members to acquire a skill, while Mr. Kashim Yakubu from the National Directorate of Employment introduced them to the Entrepreneurship Development Program.

The event’s highlights included an educational play-let performed by the SAED Committee Corps Members.
