The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Bar. Caleb Manassah Mutfwang has checked in on Corps Members of the 2024 Batch “B” Stream II at.the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp to know about their welfare and well-being.
The Executive Governor who paid an unscheduled visit to the camp, met the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Jonathan I. Yavala in his office, where he assured him that the State Government is working on modalities to see that the youths are gainfully engaged in the state during the service year.
The Governor who directed the Commissioner of Youths and Sport Hon.Joel Nkup to visit on his behalf, said that his mission is to reinforce the well established relationship with the NYSC and to assure the corps members of his unwavering interest in their welfare.
According to him, the state will require the statistics of Corps Members according to their areas of specialization so as to plan and know key areas the state will engage them most appropriately.
The Governor further stated that his administration is working on a template for the youth to ensure that they are gainfully empowered.
Similarly, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Nuhu Garba Jamba, also said that having Corps Members in some strategic places in the ministries will add value to the State service.
The State Coordinator in his remark appreciated the Executive Governor for showing great interest in the Corps Members and the Scheme in general. He thanked him for his continuous support for all the activities of the NYSC while assuring the Governor of the Scheme’s readiness to to continue to partner with the Plateau state government for the development of the state. He further appeals for continuous support for the NYSC by the State Government.
