Build on your skills after camp – SC urges corps members

 

The State Coordinator NYSC Plateau, Mr. Jonathan I. Yavala, has advised Corps Members of the 2024 Batch “B” Stream II Orientation Course to build on the skills they have acquired during the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) in – camp training.

 

Speaking at the SAED exhibition and Inter- platoon competition, which held at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, WAYE Foundation Jos, Plateau State, Yavala commended the Corps Members for their impressive work and display of talent.

 

He emphasized that the training aims to empower them to generate revenue, become self-reliant and employers of labour.

 

Yavala further encouraged the NYSC officials and Corps Members to patronize the products displayed, noting that the Corps Members’ achievements in just 11 days, is a testament to their potential for excellence with time.

 

He congratulated the Corps Members for their active participation in the SAED training and expressed appreciation to the SAED Monitoring Officer, Mrs. Josephine Tende, camp officials, and trainers for their dedication.

 

Mrs. Stella Nnaji, Head of SAED on Camp, encouraged the Corps Members to polish their skills and locate their trainers, as they can access loans from the Bank of Industries (BOI) after six weeks of service.

 

The winners of the competitions were announced by the Chief Judge, Mr. Adams Ekele, with 4 Platoon winning the shoe-making contest, 6Platoon coming tops in bead-making while 10 Platoon won the makeup contest.

 

The ceremony featured exhibition of Corps Members’ finished products and inspection by the State Coordinator and principal camp officials, as well as the presentation of prizes to the winners of the various SAED Contests.
