Let Your Service Impact Society Positively – Ondo SC charges Corps Members

The State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps in Ondo State, Mr. Sam Amaramiro Pepple has charged members of the service corps to impact positively on society during the service year.

The State Coordinator made the charge in his address during the closing ceremony of the orientation course for 2024 Batch ‘B’ (Stream II) corps members deployed to Ondo State.

Pepple, while acknowledging the discipline exhibited by the corps participants in surmounting all the challenges and rigours associated with their training, admonished them to fulfill the noble dreams and aspirations of the founding fathers of the Scheme.

He, therefore, enjoined them to imbibe and internalise the lessons they have learnt within the spell of their orientation course to serve as their guiding principles throughout the service year and beyond.

“You must, therefore, put yourselves at the forefront of the promotion of our crusade for national re-orientation of rebirth as enunciated by our dear President. You must also give impetus to our quest for a renewed sense of oneness in an egalitarian nation where no man is oppressed”.

The Coordinator assured the corps members that Ondo, the Sunshine State is peaceful, and that one of the priorities of the government is the safety of lives and property of all, irrespective of political, ethnic or religious leanings.

The NYSC Ondo State boss, however, hinted that the government had promised to strive, more than ever before, to ensure that corps members in all the nooks and crannies of the state received special security attention.

“Nevertheless, you have a role to play in this by making sure you are identified as corps members all the time and avoiding mixing with miscreants and hoodlums” he counselled.

The helmsman of the noble Scheme in Ondo State enjoined them to accept their postings in good faith, and craft their names on stones in the development and transformation of the rural communities by embarking on projects that meet their immediate needs.

“Most of your predecessors have set enviable records in this regard, and you cannot afford to let them and the nation down. I urge you, therefore, to rededicate yourselves by making the best use of this once in a life time opportunity in the service of our people” he said.

While concluding his address, the Coordinator requseted them to obtain permission from the appropriate quarters before embarking on any journey and warned them against night travel for any reason.

Two camp officials who distinguished themselves with stellar performance, were recognised and given Letters of Commendation. The personnel were ASF 1 Moday Atadoga of Federal Fire Service and Mrs. Omolola Awodunmila, an NYSC staff with the Protocol and Publicity committee.LET YOUR SERVICE IMPACT SOCIETY POSITIVELY
