Allow peace to reign in Rivers, Fubara tells Wike

River state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has urged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to shield his sword and allow peace reign in the state.

The governor added that there was no need for anybody to destroy things in the state, recalling that when Wike was the governor, Rivers was the envy of all.

Fubara said this during an interview with Channels TV’s “Politics Today”, on Monday, October 7.

Fubara said: “I’ll tell him (Wike) that it has gotten to a point where he needs to let go. We need peace in this state.

“You don’t necessarily need to win all the fights; at times, you just let go for the sake of the good people of Rivers State, and the love that he has always profess for this state.

“We need to secure the state. We don’t need to burn down the state. Fubara will leave tomorrow, we don’t know who will come, it may be through him or another person, but we need to keep the state intact.”
