15 corps members to restart service year after 12 months

 

The State Coordinator, Mrs Okpalifo Obiageli Charity who presided over the 2023 Batch C, stream I low key passing out ceremony in Bayelsa state affirmed that the NYSC has remained a vital part of national development.

She therefore urged them to continue to uphold the ideals of NYSC.

She commended them for their immeasurable contributions to Bayelsa via your primary and secondary assignments especially in education, health, agriculture and infrastructure.

“As you embark on the next phase of the journey of life, I urge to to carry forward the values of service, patriotism and unity that have defined your NYSC experience.The skills, knowledge and relationships you have cultivated during this time will serve as the foundation for your future success. Face the opportunities and challenges ahead with confidence and determination, and always strive to make positive contributions to our society.”

She stated that out of 1095 2023 Batch C, stream 1 corps members that supposed to pass out today 4 corps members have their service extended due to various infractions committed while 15 corps members have remobilization cases This to her underscores the NYSC stance on discipline as every effort is geared towards upholding the highest standards of conduct, responsibility and accountability.

For the awards, 3 corps members were given state coordinator’s commendation certificates while one earned chairman’s award certificate.

She further advised them to avoid night travels while going home. She urged them to ensure boarding of vehicles only at government approved motor parks.
She wished them a fruitful post service experience.

Earlier, the Executive Assistant to the Governor on NYSC Matters, Dr. Wisdom Poyeri in his good will message commended the corps members for their service to the state and urged those who wished to remain in Bayelsa after the service year to feel free and
assured them of the State Government provision of security of lives and properties to all Bayelsans.

Highlights of the event were the presentation of State Coordinator ‘s commendation certificate, sample signing and presentation of Certificate of National Service to 10 corps members as well as distribution of certificates to deserving corps members.
