Gbenga Adewoye, a representative from the EFCC zonal office in Kwara State, Ilorin, addressed the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Corps Members in Kwara camp. His lecture, “The Role of Youth in Fighting Corruption to Promote Economic Growth,” emphasized the importance of hard work and legitimate financial pursuits.

Mr. Adewoye quoted Mahatma Gandhi, “There is a court higher than the court of justice, the court of conscience,” highlighting personal moral responsibility in combating corruption. He stressed that the fight against corruption should not be influenced by tribal or religious affiliations.

Mr. Adewoye urged citizens to recognize that arresting corrupt individuals is a crucial step towards eradicating corruption. He specifically warned Corps Members against Internet fraud, emphasizing severe consequences. He called for collective responsibility, stressing the importance of exposing and reporting corrupt activities to the EFCC.

Mr. Adewoye cautioned against “miracle money” schemes, advising Corps Members to focus on building a life of integrity through hard work. The lecture concluded with a call for unity and collective effort in fighting corruption, essential for promoting economic growth and fostering a better society.
