Ex-Federal Lawmaker Onyemaechi Regains Freedom From Kidnappers

Former Delta Commissioner for Technical Education, Joan Onyemaechi, who was kidnapped on July 30 from her church premises along the DBS Road in Asaba, Delta State capital has been released.

According to reports, when Onyemaechi, a former member of the House of Representatives, was kidnapped, a Police aide and one other person foed in the kidnap attack while some others sustained injuries.

Delta Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, in a terse post via his X handle on Saturday, August 10, announced the former lawmaker’s freedom.

Edafe wrote: “It is confirmed that Rt. Hon. Joan Onyemaechi (Ada-Anioma) has regained her freedom.”
