Fire Service Trains Corps Members on Fire Prevention, Safety

As part of efforts to boost fire safety awareness, the Federal Fire Service in conjunction with NYSC organized an intensive session at the Gateway International Stadium. Corps Members were trained on essential fire prevention techniques and strategies to reduce fire hazards during their service year and beyond.

The session, led by DSF Celestine Oyema of the Ogun State Command, emphasized the importance of adhering to fire safety protocols. Practical demonstrations, including the use of fire extinguishers and emergency evacuation procedures, were provided. Oyema explained the scientific principles of fire, highlighting oxygen, fuel, and heat as key elements in fire ignition.

Aimed at fostering a safety-first mindset among young people, the initiative stressed the importance of proactive fire prevention measures. Corps Members were urged to integrate these practices into their daily lives and share the knowledge with their communities.
