The 2024 Batch B, Stream two inter platoons Sporting competitions have kicked off at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Wannune, Tarka Local Government Council.
In her address at the event, the State Coordinator, Mrs Veronica Garba advised the participants to play according to the rules of the game.
She urged them to adhere strictly to the principle of FairPlay; while also reminding the players that the essence of the tournament is to scout for the good and talented players that would represent the State during the DG’s Sports and Cultural Festival.
“I encourage you, the players to display good skills throughout the tournament”, she added.
Earlier, the Assistant Director Games and Sports Committee, Mr Umoren Kufre said Sports is a unifier among Youths.
Mr Umoren disclosed that the rationale behind institutionalising sports among Corps Members is to provide a platform for the selection of nucleus of NYSC National team amongst other events.
