The Head, Finance and Account branch, NYSC Oyo State, Mrs. Sosimi Feyisara, has urged Corps members camping in Oyo State for the 2024 Batch B stream 2 orientation course to be discrete and keep their bank details confidential from third parties to avoid been defrauded.
She made this known while delivering the finance and account lecture at the Oyo State NYSC permanent orientation camp, Iseyin. She highlighted the roles of Finance and Account branch ranging from making finances available for programmes across the various sectors in the establishment, monitoring the opening of account for Corpse members, payment of entitled allowances for Corps members during orientation course amongst others.
Sosimi disclosed the different allowances Corps members are entitled to, where she mentioned 3,600 naira transport allowance, 2,800 naira local transport/bicycle allowance and 33,000 naira monthly allowance. She explained that the transport allowance is paid to subsidise their transport expenses from their various homes to the orientation camp.
She stressed further that the first monthly allowance will be payed on camp while subsequent ones shall be received upon completion of monthly biometric which serves as a testament that Corps member has worked and deserved to be paid. She therefore urged Corps members to pay attention to their dashboard and ensure it reads present as it serves as the gateway to receiving monthly allowance.
She encouraged Corps members to always channel complain on finance issue through the approved channel of communications rather than raising false alarm and unnecessary agitation as NYSC management remain committed to the welfare of Corps members.
The head of account urged Corps members to remain calm on the issue of the minimum wage stating that Corps members have always benefited from wages increment in the past.
