"Make a Positive Impact" - ANYIA Urges Corps Members
Chief Greg Francis Anyia, a retired Deputy Director and former head of NYSC’s Foreign Trained Division, National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja, has advised Corps Members of the 2024 Batch “B” Stream II to make a positive difference during their service year. He shared his wealth of knowledge and experience during a motivational talk at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp in Jos.
Anyia emphasized that Corps Members are special to the Scheme and encouraged them to maximize the opportunities of the year. He cautioned them against being misled by hearsay urging them to focus on making a lasting impact during the service year.
The seasoned administrator further stated that one of NYSC’s objectives is to make Corps Members self-reliant and instill character that will enable them to settle in any community.
He advised them to stay away from vices, respect the cultures and traditions of their host communities while making a good first impression.
He further charged them to resist temptations that will tarnish the image of the Scheme and be positive ambassadors.
Anyia also reminded them to utilize their Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training, which will provide opportunities after their service year.
The State Coordinator, NYSC Plateau, Mr. Jonathan I. Yavala, while introducing Chief Anyia, encouraged Corps Members to pay attention and learn from his interaction.
