Mr. Femi Osungbohun, State Coordinator, NYSC Kogi State, has congratulated the 2024 Batch ‘B’ stream two corps members on the successful completion of their orientation course programme on Monday 16th September 2024. During his debriefing of the corps members, he emphasized the various leadership, business, and social development programmes the corps members took part in during the orientation programme.
He charged the corps members to completely accept and integrate the teachings and experiences garnered during the orientation course. He underlined the necessity of fostering national unity, making economic contribution to society, and ensuring that teamwork and leadership qualities continue to influence their service year. He urged them to maintain good behavior at their places of primary assignment(PPA) and make tangible contributions to the communities they serve.
The Coordinator cautioned against late-night travel and insisted on strict obedience to NYSC rules and regulations during the service year.
He also stressed the importance of proper representation and reiterated the official NYSC dress code, advising corps members to wear only the approved uniforms issued by the management. The coordinator also underlined the importance of corps members being neutral in partisan politics, especially during elections. Stressing that corps members must avoid political rallies and activities, since partisan politics by Corps Members violates the NYSC’s code of conduct.
He warned against using social media inappropriately, encouraging corps members to avoid any actions that could harm the NYSC’s image or depict the institution badly. He said that corps members are not permitted to communicate with the press especially on matters relating to NYSC policies throughout their service year.
