The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Kwara State Coordinator, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa Joshua, debriefed the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Corps Members following the successful completion of the orientation program in Yikpata Camp, Edu Local Government, Kwara State.
Mr. Onifade congratulated the participants and outlined essential information regarding their next steps, emphasizing the importance of:
– Collecting posting letters and reporting immediately to their Place of Primary Assignment (PPA)
– Avoiding inducement of rejection at PPA and submitting rejection letters to Local Government Inspectors (LGIs) for processing
– Obtaining information from LGIs only
– Not speaking to the press about NYSC matters
– Seeking approval before traveling and following proper channels in case of sickness
– Taking SAED post-camp training seriously and engaging in weekly Community Development Service (CDS)
– Carrying their NYSC ID cards at all times
He also reminded Corps Members to:
– Participate actively in CDS activities for opportunities to earn state and national awards
– Ensure monthly clearance from employers, including biometric verification, for allowance disbursement
– Be vigilant, avoid traveling at night, and refrain from unauthorized journeys
– Contact state coordinators or officials immediately in case of emergency.
Mr. Onifade reminded Corps Members to check their NYSC dashboard regularly for updates and adhere strictly to all guidelines as they proceed with the service year.
The Assistant Director, Corps Inspection and Monitoring Branch, Mrs. Akinola Olubunmi, introduced Zonal and Local Government Inspectors to the Corps Members. The RSM briefed Corps Members on parade ground expectations for tomorrow closing ceremony, and the session concluded with Corps Members proceeding to kitchen for breakfast.
