The State Coordinator of NYSC Plateau, Mr. Yavala Jonathan, has emphasized the importance of oneness among religious bodies during a meeting with executives of the Muslim Corpers Association of Nigeria (MCAN), Nigeria Christian Corpers Fellowship (NCCF), and the National Association of Catholic Corpers (NACC).
Held at the NYSC State Secretariat in Jos, the meeting aimed to ensure a successful and hitch-free Orientation exercise for the incoming 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Corps Members.
Mr. Yavala stressed that religious matters are sensitive and require harmonious collaboration among all concerned bodies. He encouraged the executives to set a positive tone for their members by sharing the Scheme’s correct mode of operation and avoiding dissemination of wrong or discouraging information.
The Coordinator also cautioned against harboring Corps Members in worship centers during camp activities, emphasizing the importance of active participation in all camp activities. He commended the leadership of the Corps religious bodies for their support in providing accommodations for Corps Members after the Orientation Camp and urged them to ensure firm compliance with camp rules and regulations.
Mr. Yavala concluded by requesting that prayers be made for the success of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course.
Mrs Mary Eghieye,camp Director for the 2024 Batch ‘B’stream II Orientation Course,who also spoke at the meeting urged the Corps religious leaders to ensure that their activities do not conflict with the Orientation course timetable. She advised them to report any challenges to their staff adviser for proper resolution
The religious leaders in their responses appreciated the State Coordinator’s consideration and assured him of their cooperation in ensuring the success of the Orientation exercise.
