A final-year student of the French Department at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Esu Ema Rita, has tragically passed away.
Rita, who was nearing the end of her academic journey, met her untimely death near the university’s main gate.
The accident occurred around noon on Thursday as she was heading to submit her final-year project.
According to sources, she was struck by a car while attempting to cross the Ife-Ibadan road, just a short distance from the university’s entrance.
