The Delta Police Command Public Relation Officer Bright Edafe has spoken on the needs for police operatives to function with human faces.
He narrated a recent encounter between an operative and a passenger to drive home the point.
This was disclosed in a post shared on X by Edafe on Saturday, October 12.
The post reads: “So someone called me that he was taking his children to school and he’s being delayed by the police over a minor vehicle particulars issue, Hmmmm.
“Well I said give the policeman the phone and I asked him, do you have children, he said yes, how old, he said 12. I then asked him a deep question, “so do you think your child will be proud to say outside that his father is a policeman, he said no.
“I said why, he said its because of the way the people see us, I then told him, start changing that narrative by being a little nicer to the people”. He said oga thank you sir. I will allow him to go'”.
