The Senate list (called the Academic Board list for polytechnics) is the official record your institution sends to NYSC confirming who graduated. It's the gateway to registration: only graduates on the approved list can access the NYSC portal.

Why errors matter

The details on your school's list flow straight into your NYSC record. A wrong date of birth, a misspelt name or a missing middle name can:

  • Stop you from registering at all
  • Cause problems during verification in camp
  • End up on your certificate of national service

What to check

  • Full name and spelling (in the right order)
  • Date of birth
  • Matriculation number
  • Course of study and class of degree
  • Graduation date

If something is wrong

  1. Go to your school early — usually Student Affairs or the NYSC desk officer.
  2. Bring evidence: your birth certificate or NIN slip, admission letter, and statement of result.
  3. Ask for the correction to be made before the list is uploaded for your batch.
  4. Keep copies of everything you submit and the name of the officer you spoke to.

Not on the list at all?

This usually means your result hasn't been approved yet, or your school hasn't uploaded it. Ask your institution which batch your set is being mobilised for — then follow up regularly.
