A suspect, accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in the Alakuko area of Lagos State has been arrested.
The arrest was confirmed in a post on X by the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency on Friday, August 16.
According to the agency, the survive is already receiving comprehensive medical care.
The post reads: “We appreciate everyone who brought the tragic incident of child sexual abuse in Alakuko, Lagos to our attention.
“We are working with the #LagosPoliceNG in investigating the case.
“The survivor his receiving comprehensive medical care, and the suspect is currently in police custody.”
Concerned residents had earlier this week taken to social media to call the attention of the Lagos State Police to the incident involving a 14-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by her landlord in the Alakuko axis of Lagos State.
