The True Measure of Your Service Lies in the Legacy You Leave Behind – Gov Sani

The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, has emphasized that the ultimate value of the Corps members’ service year would be judged by the lasting legacies they created.

Governor Uba Sani, who was ably represented by the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Rabi Salisu made this assertion during the Closing Ceremony of the 2024 Batch B Stream II Orientation Course at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, Government College Kaduna.

Declaring the Orientation Course closed, the Governor urged the Corps members to make meaningful contributions to their host communities and leave behind positive impacts that will stand the test of time. He noted that beyond fulfilling their primary assignments, the Corps members should see themselves as agents of change, promoting unity, development, and national integration.

Senator Uba Sani further encouraged the corps members to uphold the values of the NYSC and serve with honor, dedication, and integrity assuring them that the state government is committed to supporting their efforts and ensuring their safety throughout their service year.

In his speech, the State Coordinator NYSC Kaduna, Mr. Hassan Mahmud Taura commended the Corps members for their resilience, discipline, and cooperation during the three-weeks orientation exercise. He praised their ability to adapt to the rigours of camp life and urged them to carry the same energy and commitment into their primary assignments. According to Mr. Taura, the orientation course was only the beginning of the service year that would test their ability to contribute to nation-building.

He further reminded the Corps members of the importance of respecting the traditions and cultures of their host communities. He advised them to embrace diversity and foster good relationships with local leaders and their employers. Mr. Taura expressed confidence that the Corps members would make meaningful contributions to their communities and urged them to always remember the ideals of the NYSC.

The ceremony was graced by representatives from military and paramilitary formations, as well as officials from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
