A corps member, Fakunle Comfort Oluwaseun, who served in Plateau, has renovated and re-equipped the science laboratory at her Place of Primary Assignment (PPA).
Sharing about the project in a Facebook group on Monday, she thanked her state coordinator for granting approval to carry out the project.
She wrote: “MY PERSONAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
“Impacting lives during your service year is one of the things that make you feel fulfilled. I embarked on a personal CDS project for the renovation and re-equipping of the science laboratory at my PPA (successfully commissioned).
“Sensitized over 2,500 students on personal hygiene, donated sanitary pads to students, organized a quiz competition among private and public secondary schools, and distributed educational materials to students.
“Special thanks to the State Coordinator for granting me approval to carry out these laudable projects.”
Netizens have flocked to the comments section to commend her for undertaking such a project.
However, one netizen who commented on the post, Barka Emmanuel Peter, said the corps member “gets money.”
He wrote: “Dis one get money na.”
In a swift response, the ex-corps member, Fakunle Comfort Oluwaseun, clarified that she did not use her own money for the project but sourced funds from sponsors in the community.
She wrote: “I didn’t use my money; I sourced funds from sponsors in the community.”
