President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the 23rd Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) at the State House Council Chambers in Abuja.
The president, who had recently returned from a three-day working visit to France, cut short his trip to conduct the swearing-in ceremony for the new CJN.
This was made known via a series of videos shared by the special assistant to the president on social media, Dada Olusegun, on Friday, August 23.
Captioning the videos, Olusegun wrote: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu presides over Swearing-In Ceremony of the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Honourable Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun at the State House Council Chambers.
“Justice Kekere Ekun becomes the second woman in Nigeria’s history to be CJN.”
